This isn't Vaugarde, where people commonly walk into one another's houses uninvited to explore the first room (after all, going any farther than that would be rude). The concept is still weird to him, but he'd almost half-expected it; so it's weird to have a guest all of a sudden when he hasn't been expecting one...but. Maybe it's some sort of message? A notice? Someone trying to make door-to-door sales??
